I am not a natural entrepreneur, painting is my passion! I started out in 1992 painting watercolour cards at my kitchen table in Cornwall and selling them at local craft fairs. Unable to keep up with demand I saw a business opportunity for original greetings cards. I put together a business plan and with a loan of £3,500 from the Prince’s Trust and six of my own designs, Milkwood Publishing was born! I quickly became an entrepreneur expanding into larger premises producing prints as well as cards and framing them myself. Quality at an affordable price is my USP. Retailing was the next natural business opportunity that presented itself and I now have 5 successful retail outlets in Cornwall, The Whistlefish Galleries. In addition I sell in over 1400 outlets in the UK and export to France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Greece.
